Drug precursor found in cosmetics bound for Australia
On Wednesday, customs officers at Da Nang International Airport found and temporarily seized over 1kg of drug precursor in a package which was being sent by a person in the city to a receiver in Australia. The drug precursor was disguised as face mask powder.
The customs officers discovered 6 packets of face mask powder in yellow, pink and opalescent colours. The packets were labelled with the brand name of the XL Cosmetics Company located in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh District. They had been cleverly hidden in a package which contained Eazy White face mask powder, bath towels, false eyelashes, body wash and other items.
Samples of the substance were sent for testing at the Da Nang Sub-Institute of Crime Science, and the results showed that the opalescent samples were a drug precursor.
The case is still under investigation.
