Two waste material collectors died when a warhead exploded at an acacia plantation in Truong Dinh Village in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Lien Commune.  The victims were 41-year-old Le Ta and 35-year-old Nguyen Van Dung, both from Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Hiep Bac Ward.

At about 10am last Saturday, Ta and Dung were scrapping a warhead when it exploded and they were killed instantly.  The explosion caused a deep crater and some acacia trees nearby lost all their leaves.  The victims’ iron saw and metal detector were blown away, and their motorcycles were seriously damaged.

According to Hoa Lien Commune’s police, the type of warhead has not yet been identified and the case is still under investigation.
