US gives 20,000 USD to help disadvantaged young people
During their ongoing visit to Da Nang, the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Viet Nam, Ms Claire Pierangelo, and the US Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City, Ms Rena Bitter, gave 20,000 USD from their government to a project run by the REACH Centre for Disadvantaged Youths to help disadvantaged youths find jobs.
The project, which is running from 15 June to 15 December 2014, is being implemented in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Hue, Ha Noi, and Hai Duong. The aim is to help the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, including those affected by domestic violence, human trafficking, poverty and HIV/AIDS. They are being trained in such sectors as tourism and hospitality services, hairdressing, and web and graphic design.
