During the ongoing 11^th session of the Da Nang People’s Council in its 8th tenure for the 2011-2016 term, a proposal has been made by the People’s Committee to name or rename 120 local streets.  It was suggested that 42 streets should be named after the country’s historical figures, 58 after either local ancient villages or hamlets, 18 to follow the number order of existing same name streets, 1 after a historical event, and one other to be renamed.
