Viet Nam Railways to cut 10% train ticket prices in January
The ticket prices of all seats of Thong Nhat trains plying between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will go down 10 percent in January to attract more passengers, said the State-owned Viet Nam Railways on Friday. The price reduction will be valid for tickets from January 1 to February 1 in 2015.
Besides, the firm also decided to lower the prices of cargo transport with trains.

A five percent price reduction is applied for cargo loaded at stations from Hanoi to Vinh for transporting to stations in southern region.
Cement loaded in full train carriage for transport from the central Da Nang City to northern provinces will have the transport price decrease of 10 percent.
Containers loaded in full train carriage for transport between the northern Hai Phong station and northern Dong Dang station will down 20 percent.
Viet Nam Railways has recently improved their services to attract more passengers.
It carried out home delivery service for online booked tickets from December 1 after it put an electronic ticket system into operation.
