Last year, over 22 billion VND from the central government’s budget was spent on repairing the seriously-degraded houses of 950 poor social policy families in Da Nang. 

In detail, 405 are in Hoa Vang District, 121 in Lien Chieu District, 112 in Thank Khe District, 103 in Hai Chau District, 89 in Ngu Hanh Son, 69 in Cam Le District, and 51 in Son Tra District.

The repairs were carried out under the city’s programme to refurbish houses of people who gave great service in the national revolution.

In addition, a venture between the Duc Manh Corporation and the 579 Construction and Investment Company donated television sets to all of these families.

Following the success of last year’s programme, the city is aiming to repair the houses of another 1,000 poor local social policy families this year. 

The construction or repair of the houses of 486 social policy and ethnic minority families in Hoa Vang District is now underway.  Much of the repair work is expected to be completed before Tet to help the families to enjoy a happy and peaceful festival.
