Last year, more than 33 billion VND was raised by the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection for local charitable activities. 

During the year, over 1.7 billion VND was spent on building 25 new houses for local poor families and repairing the houses of 2 more.  A focus was on being actively involved in the city’s community health programmes and assisting local shelters for disadvantaged people.  In addition, free portions of rice soup (chao), rice and milk were provided for poor patients in local hospitals, and some poor pupils and students were helped.
