On Sunday morning, various activities took place across Da Nang in order to mark the official launch of the city’s “Year for Culture and Urban Civilisation” programme.

Hai Chau District has been selected as one of the two municipal-level pilot models for implementing the programme.  Thach Thang, Hai Chau 1 and 2, and Phuoc Ninh wards in this district have been chosen to run a trial.  A focus will be on encouraging local residents to ensure sidewalk order, and remove awnings and illegal advertisements which adversely affect the aesthetics of the local urban landscape.

In Lien Chieu District, more than 600 employees from local departments and agencies, along with local military forces and residents, took part in the programme’s launch.
