A discussion on the implementation of the “Year for Culture and Urban Civilisation” programme took place at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre on Thursday morning.

The Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee (PC), Mr Vo Cong Tri, stressed the need to raise public awareness of laws and this programme through various publicity activities.

A focus will be on building a modern and synchronous urban infrastructure and improving the quality of local urban services.

Heed will be paid to building a cultural and civilised urban lifestyle, promoting fine traditional culture in local households and residential areas.  Importance will be attached to incorporating culture into local public areas and the workplace as well as in trade and tourism activities, and maintaining traffic safety and order.

Stronger measures will be taken to fight against crime and deal with social order and security violations.

Municipal PC Secretary Tran Tho stressed the urgency to encourage local residents to uphold their exemplary role in the implementation of the programme, as well as publicise it to tourists arriving in the city.  This will help to ensure the great success of this meaningful programme.
