Following a suggestion made by the Da Nang authorities, permission has been given by the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction to allow ex-pats living in the city to buy local houses and residential land lots, with ownership for a maximum of 50 years, in accordance with the revised national laws on housing and real estate trading.  This will come into effect soon.

Permission has also been granted to the city to sell 900 local apartments funded from the city’s budget.
