Local rural markets busy before Tet

DA NANG Today
Published: February 04, 2015

In these days leading up to the Tet Festival, many rural markets in Da Nang are bustling with trade.  Traders at these markets usually open their stalls very early in the morning to sell the various types of fresh food to their customers.  Their aim is to earn as much money as they can to to help their families to enjoy a happier and warmer Tet.

The Tuy Loan Market in Hoa Vang District is a typical example and it has been crowded with shoppers over recent days.  Various items are now on sale at the market, including live chickens and ducks, and locally-grown products like scallion and cilantro, early mustard greens, kohlrabi, Italian squashes, bitter melons, and pomelos.

Visitors to this market are impressed by the simple and rustic trading atmosphere.
