Last Saturday morning, after receiving information from fishermen at sea about a Chinese fishing boat illegally operating in Viet Nam’s territorial waters, the Da Nang Border Guard High Command immediately sent out ships to deal with the issue.

At the same time, the incident was reported to the Viet Nam Border Guard High Command and the municipal People’s Committee.

Nearly 4 hours later, the Da Nang Border Guard High Command's ships reached the scene and, upon seeing them, the Chinese boat sailed away immediately.

Fisherman Truong Van Phuong from Da Nang's Thanh Khe District, who was on a fishing boat operating nearby, said that the wooden Chinese vessel was illegally operating in Viet Nam's waters about 18 nautical miles off the Da Nang coast.  He believed that it was very similar to the Chinese boat which capsized the fishing boat DNa 90152 from Thanh Khe District on 26 May 2014.
