The Da Nang Newspaper has deserved its stated role as 'the voice of the party, government and people of Da Nang City'.  In addition, it has made a significant contribution to advertising the image of the city to other localities nationwide. These statements were made by the Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee, Mr Vo Cong Tri, during his meeting with the newspaper's leaders on Tuesday morning.

Deputy Secretary Tri praised the newspaper’s editors, its reporters, and all its staff members for their great efforts in publicising the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State and the city, as well as reflecting the aspirations of local residents.  Special attention has been paid to developing new items, he added.

He also took the opportunity to ask the newspaper to continue its efforts to publicise social issues of concern, and to develop its own development strategy for the 2015-2020 period.  Importance should be attached to improving the professional skills of the newspaper’s reporters and ensuring that they have good moral qualities. 

Mr Tri also stressed the need for the newspaper to actively contribute its own opinions about social issues.  A focus should be on increasing the number of the newspaper’s colleagues, including scientists, experts and researchers, who are involved in different aspects.
