Effective measures to make Thanh Khe an environmentally-friendly district
Since 2010, Da Nang’s Thanh Khe District has implemented the “Building Thanh Khe into an Environmentally-friendly District” project. The project has been divided into 2 stages: the 1st from 2010 to 2015, and the 2nd from 2016 to 2020.
During the 1st stage, the district aims to make at least 5 of its local wards meet the criteria of 'a green, clean and beautiful environment'. The focus has been on encouraging local families to plant flowers, ornamental trees and vegetables in their home gardens, as well as to protect and take care of public trees along the local streets.

In addition, local residents have been asked not to discharge domestic wastewater and rubbish into the streets. Special attention has also been paid to encouraging them to leave out rubbish in the right places in accordance with the city’s regulations.
Importance has also been attached to ensuring the aesthetics of the local urban landscape by controlling the encroachment of local trading activities onto streetside pavements and removing illegal advertisements in public areas.
In addition, graves have been relocated away from local residential areas and environmental pollution at vacant land lots has been dealt with. Another focus has been on ensuring social order and handling pollution problems along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, as well as effectively controlling wastewater discharges into local canals and lakes.
