Four communes in Hoa Vang District meet standards for new rural areas
Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho recently signed a decision confirming that the Hoa Phong, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Phu communes in Hoa Vang District met the new rural area criteria in 2014.
Each of the communes will be rewarded with a 100 million VND social welfare project, funded by the city's budget.
Over the past 4 years, over 1.694 trillion VND has been raised to implement a programme to upgrade rural areas in Hoa Vang District. During the period, around 150 kms of local roads have been upgraded across the district, along with 80 schools, 18 bridges, 32 irrigation systems and 8 cultural houses. Two markets have been built and a public wireless system covering 11 local communes has been installed. In addition, financial aid has been given to build houses for 1,445 local poor and social policy families, as well as to help 3,026 local families to build basic sanitation works.
This year, a focus will be on helping the district’s 5 remaining communes to meet the criteria for rural area development, and thereby reach the city’s target, set by the government, 5 years ahead of schedule.
