On Sunday morning, the Da Nang and Quang Nam fellow countrymen’s associations in Ho Chi Minh City held a get-together for their fellow countrymen who are studying, working and living there.  Present at the event were Da Nang Party Committee (PC) Secretary Tran Tho and municipal PC Deputy Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh, along with some leaders from Quang Nam Province.

The Chairman of the Da Nang Fellow Countrymen’s Association, Mr Nguyen Van Dau, highlighted the active involvement of his association in Da Nang’s charitable activities.  This has included offering free medical examinations, treatment and medicines to poor elderly people, women and children in local remote areas, giving financial aid and gifts to local disaster victims, and building houses for the poor in Hoa Vang and Cam Le districts.

On behalf of the Da Nang leaders, Secretary Tho praised the association for its active support for the city over recent years.  He also said he hopes that Da Nang and Quang Nam fellow countrymen will continue their efforts to make Da Nang a more civilised, modern and liveable city.
