On Monday morning, fishing boat QNg 98984, with a crew of 10 onboard, suffered engine failure and broke its propeller whilst fishing at latitude 18°N and longitude 110°35'E.  The ship began drifting at a speed of 1 nautical mile per hour and it faced strong winds of level 4 and rough seas at that time.

After receiving an SOS message, the Da Nang Coastal Information Station asked 2 local fishing boats operating nearby, QNg 98735 and QNg 98938, to help the boat in distress.  In the afternoon of the same day, the 2 boats reached the vessel and began towing it back to the mainland.  They are expected to arrive in Da Nang this evening.
