On Monday, police officers from the Drug Crime Investigation Division (PC47) of the Da Nang Police Department temporarily detained two local young men for illegally trafficking drugs.

The offenders were 28-year-old Nguyen Tan Hoang and 23-year-old Pham Minh Duc, both from Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward.  They were main suspects in an investigation into drug-related crime conducted in April 2014 by the local police.

On 6 March, the PC47 police arrested Duc who had been caught selling drugs to a drug addict on Nguyen Van Thoai Street.  A packet of methamphetamine, 50 tablets of ecstasy, a cell phone, a motorcycle, and 7 million VND in cash was seized.

At 11am the next day, Hoang was captured also on Nguyen Van Thoai Street.  He was charged with illegal drug trafficking after the local police had found and seized 10 grams of methamphetamine, 170 tablets of ecstasy, a motorcycle, and 40 million VND in cash.

Hoang already has a previous conviction for intentionally causing injury, and Duc for the use of illegal drugs.
