Association of Disabled People hosts its 2nd Congress
The 2nd Congress of the Da Nang Association of Disabled People in the 2015 - 2020 tenure took place on Wednesday afternoon.
Over the 2010 - 2015 tenure, the Association helped over 100 of its members to get preferential loans from the city’s branch of the Social Policy Bank, as well as assisted another 110 to find suitable jobs. In addition, many local disabled people benefited from livelihood support programmes and vocational training courses.

With regard to the key tasks for the 2015 - 2020 tenure, the focus will be on providing employment consultancy services, creating more job opportunities, and introducing effective business models for local disabled people.
Importance will be also attached to facilitating the Association’s members to attend local business start-up courses and access loans from the organisation’s revolving fund.
Also at the event, the Association took the opportunity to ask the city’s authorities to grant allowances to employees of district-level disabled people associations, as well as issue policies about directing local agencies and businesses to recruit the local disabled.
Special attention will be also paid to helping them to enjoy free coach tickets and admission fees to local attractions in accordance with the national laws on people with disabilities.
At the event, Mr Truong Cong Nghiem was re-elected as the Chairman of the municipal Association for the 2015 - 2020 tenure.
