Haematology and blood transfusion centre needs to be built
Da Nang has entirely favourable conditions for establishing a haematology and blood transfusion centre.
This statement was made recently by Prof Nguyen Ngoc Minh, the former Vice Chairman of the National Haematology and Blood Transfusion Society and former Director of the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Centre in the central region.
Prof Minh is one of Viet Nam’s leading experts on blood transfusion, and he once contributed his opinions to the Da Nang Haematology and Blood Transfusion Centre project, which has yet to be implemented.

The expert noted that haematology and blood transfusion centres have been established in many cities and provinces nationwide over recent years, and they all have operated effectively. Yet Da Nang only has a small-scale blood bank in the Haematology Department of the city’s General Hospital.
Prof Minh stressed the urgency for the city’s healthcare sector to develop and present its plans about building a haematology and blood transfusion centre to the municipal authorities, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, and the Ministry of Health for approval.
