On Monday, members of the Hai Chau District urban rule inspection team in Da Nang fined 26-year-old Tran Kim Tam from Thanh Hoa Province for cleaning shoes at exorbitant prices.  52 shoe inserts and a shoeshine kit were temporarily seized.

Also on the same day, Vien Dinh Hung also from Thanh Hoa Province was arrested and fined for the same charge. 

Earlier, the municipal People’s Council had received many complaints from local residents via its hotline about people charging high prices for shoeshining at the intersection of Nguyen Van Linh and Hoang Dieu streets.
