As part of a cooperation programme on Da Nang’s sustainable development, the 2^nd Da Nang Urban Development Forum took place in the city on Wednesday. The event was jointly organised by the municipal People’s Committee (PC), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Japan’s Yokohama City authorities.

In attendance at the event were municipal PC Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, the Deputy Director General of JICA’s Southeast Asia and Pacific Department, Mr Noriji Sakakura, and the Director of the International Technical Cooperation Division's Policy Bureau in Yokohama City, Mr Tetsuya Nakajima.

The forum in progress

The event gave the opportunity for Da Nang’s leaders to share their experiences in urban management, as well as access effective management practices in urban development from Yokohama City.  Importance was attached to boosting integrated urban development, ensuring effective financial management, and promoting applications of the PPP investment model.

Valuable knowledge and experiences which were presented at the event will contribute significantly to facilitating the implementation of the city’s detailed plans for its sustainable urban development in the future.
