Central Viet Nam to face scorching heat of over 40°C this week
The central Vietnamese region from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue Provinces will be the hottest area in the country this week, with high temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius or above, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned.
As a western low pressure trough has developed again today, May 25, temperatures across Viet Nam have increased by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
In the central region, last week’s hot spell will continue with the hottest weather hitting the region from Thanh Hoa to Ninh Thuan, with an average high temperature of up to 38 degrees or higher.
Yesterday, Nghe An experienced heat of 39.2 degrees, while Quang Ngai suffered under 38.5 degrees.
On Tuesday, May 26, the temperature in some areas is likely to exceed 40 degrees.
The hot weather in the central region is expected to last until the end of this month.
The Central Highlands region will be cooler than central provinces, with low and high temperatures of 22 and 34 degrees respectively.
The central coastal region from Da Nang to Binh Dinh Province will see light showers and thunderstorms in some areas, with high temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees.
