On Wednesday, there was a fierce heatwave in the mid-central region due to the influence of low pressure in the southeastern edge of the west associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.  Daytime temperatures climbed to 37⁰ Celsius or higher in some parts of the region.

Today, the mid-central region experiences temperatures ranging from 37⁰ to 39⁰ Celsius or even higher.  Some areas will see scattered showers and thunderstorms accompanied with strong wind in the late afternoon and at night.
