Bach Dang is one of Da Nang’s key tourist streets.  The street is home to many worthy places to visit and enjoy, including the Madame Lan Restaurant, Novotel, Memory Lounge, the Han River Swing Bridge, the Bamboo 2 Bar and the Rong (Dragon) Bridge.

Recently, people who live nearby have been complaining about the serious noise pollution as many bars and tea rooms on the street play music too loud after 10pm every day which affects their daily lives.

At 10.20pm on 21 April, Hai Chau District’s interdisciplinary team No 178 made an inspection visit to the City Pub, located at 92 Bach Dang street, and found that the sound level here exceeded the permitted ones.  Similar violations were also found at other bars and coffee shops on this street.  They included Bamboo Bar 2, Music Club, Simple Man, and D&D Drink Beer Garden.

Deputy Head of the district’s Culture-Information Office, Mr Nguyen Van Sanh, said that tackling noise pollution from drinking establishments on Bach Dang is one of his district’s key tasks in response to the city’s “Year for Culture and Urban Civilisation” programme.  He stressed the need for the city authorities to issue specific regulations for this street to help maintain Bach Dang as a popular night-time entertainment area for local residents and visitors, whilst ensuring security and order for local residents living nearby.
