On Monday morning, a celebration for the 125th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (19 May) took place in Da Nang.

At the event, 20 local Party members from the city’s government agencies were awarded 65-year, 40-year and 30-year Party membership badges.  The recipients were those who were actively involved in Viet Nam’s resistance wars against invaders and the protection of the nation.  Despite all the hardships and difficulties, they have always demonstrated their unyielding spirit to struggle for national independence and set a shining example for younger generations to follow.

The Secretary of the Party Committee of Da Nang’s government agencies, Mr Huynh Van Hoa, hoped that the recipients would continue their efforts to make significant contributions to the city’s progress in the years ahead.

In the evening of the same day, a musical programme entitled ‘Ho Chi Minh – the Most Beautiful Name’ was held in front of the Trung Vuong Theatre.  The event featured 13 song and dance items which all highly praised the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Uncle Ho, and the Vietnamese people’s profound love for their country.  They were performed by Youth Union members from ward authorities, government agencies and schools across the city.

On Sunday evening, an exchange musical programme named “Milk for Children, Silk for the Elderly” was organised in Hai Chau District’s Hoa Thuan Tay Ward.  During the event, a total of 110 million VND was raised by local residents and government employees which will go to help 113 local single elderly people, disabled children and those living in difficult circumstances.
