As part of the ongoing ‘Red Journey 2015 - Connecting Vietnamese Bloodlines’ national programme, a blood donation campaign entitled ‘Trai Tim Song Han’ (The Heart of the Han River) took place in Da Nang on 18 and 19 July.  The event was jointly organised by the municipal Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donations and other local relevant agencies. 

During the 2 days, over 2,000 participants donated a total of 1,523 units of blood, exceeding the event’s target by 323.

The donated blood will be transfered to the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department of the Da Nang General Hospital which is responsible for providing blood for emergency cases at 20 hospitals in the city and Quang Nam Province.
