Administrative fines on a trial basis are being imposed for environmental violations  from the public bathing area of the Sao Bien beach along to the Pham Van Dong Beach No 1 between 15 July and 30 September.

Employees from the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Tourism Beaches have already displayed many warnings of the fines for such violations as discarding cigarette ash and butts or leaving domestic waste in inappropriate places.

In addition, hundreds of garbage bins and banners bearing environmental protection slogans have been placed along the local beaches.  Interdisciplinary teams from local relevant agencies have made inspection visits to the beaches in order to detect and deal with any environmental violations.  Thanks to these effective measures, the awareness of environmental protection amongst local beachgoers has been considerably improved.

Many local residents and visitors remarked that the application of these fines should help to ensure beautiful and clean beaches which will then attract more domestic and foreign visitors.
