At around 11.00am on Wednesday, a large fire broke out at the Thanh Hoang Chau Company on Kinh Duong Vuong Street in Da Nang’s Lien Chieu District, which specialises in selling paint. 

Witnesses said that a large volume of smoke was billowing from the burning building, and loud explosions were heard coming from the company’s warehouse where a large number of boxes of paint and chemicals were being stored.

Dozens of fire engines and many firefighters from the city’s Department of Fire Fighting and Prevention arrived quickly on the scene.  The leaders of the district’s authorities also came to the scene to direct fire-fighting activities.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the fierce blaze was completely extinguished over 3.5 hours.

Two of the company’s employees were reported to be slightly injured.  All the motorcycles and furniture inside the company, along with a light truck parked nearby, were completed destroyed during the blaze.

The incident caused estimated damage of 8 billion VND.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
