USA's GIBTK funds projects for disadvantaged children
On Monday, the Da Nang Association of Charities and Children’s Rights Protection reviewed the implementation of projects caring for local orphaned and poor children, and supporting disadvantaged male students to continue their studies at universities, colleges and vocational training schools, during the 2014 - 2015 academic year.
These projects have been funded by Giving it Back to Kids (GIBTK) which is a non-profit organisation from the USA dedicated to helping kids achieve their maximum potential through medical care, education, nutrition and love.
A total of 39 disadvantaged children and male students benefited from the projects. They were given spiritual and material aids to maintain their studies. In the 2014 - 2015 academic year, all the 39 beneficiaries moved up a class, 15 of whom gained positive study results and 3 passed their senior high school graduation exams.
The projects will continue running until 2017 at a total cost to GIBTK of over 4.2 billion VND.
