As reported yesterday, after receiving an SOS message from Da Nang’s fishing boat DNa 90569 TS in the Hoang Sa waters, staff at the Zone II Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Da Nang MRCC) sent out rescue ship SAR 412 to help 39-year-old crewman Nguyen Nam who had been injured in an accident at 8.04am on 24 August.

The rescue ship arrived on the scene at 11.30pm the same day.  However, in addition to Nam, another crew member on the boat was also found to be injured.  29-year-old Hoang Van Thuong was suffering from blunt chest trauma and wounds to his thighs.

Both victims were transferred to the rescue ship and safely brought ashore for treatment in the morning of the following day.
