Da Nang's Department of Foreign Affairs recently held an event to celebrate its 40^th birthday and the 70^th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese diplomatic sector (28 August).

Addressing the event, leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the municipal People’s Committee praised the local Department for its great efforts in promoting the city’s progress.  They stressed the need for the Department to uphold the traditions of the national diplomatic sector, and make every effort to boost the city's international integration.     

To date, Da Nang has established friendly and cooperative ties with 36 localities from 18 countries worldwide.  The local Department of Foreign Affairs raises over 150 billion VND each year from international non-governmental organisations for the city’s social welfare activities, its community development projects, and other aspects.
