Over the past 5 years, the Da Nang Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children has raised a total of over 400 billion VND in cash and material gifts for its charitable activities.

In particular, part of the money raised went into the fund for the construction of the city’s Cancer Hospital in 2010.  In addition, hundreds of local poor children with congenital heart complaints have been identified and have received treatment and intervention.

A total of 13,000 local poor women and children have enjoyed the benefits of hospital fee exemptions and reductions, and the Association has also supported the care of orphans and disadvantaged children at the local Village of Hope.

In the future, their focus will be on providing free screenings for children with congenital heart complaints.

Importance will also be attached to providing an early breast and cervical cancer detection programme for 500 local poor women, and giving hospital fee exemptions and reductions to poor women patients at the Women’s Hospital.

An appeal will be made for donations to provide hospital fee exemptions and reductions to local poor cancer patients at the city's Cancer Hospital, and they will continue to be involved in other local social and charitable activities.
