Since a campaign began on 21 July to deal with foreign traffic violators in the city, Da Nang's Traffic Police Department (PC67) has detected and dealt with a total of 14 foreigners who had broken local traffic laws.  In the main they were caught without legal driving licences or vehicle registration certificates, or for not wearing helmets.

As a result, 4 individuals were reminded about the city’s traffic laws and 10 motorcycles were detained by the local police.

In addition, administrative fines were imposed on 3 Vietnamese citizens for allowing foreigners who did not meet the city’s traffic rules for renting vehicles.

A group of 5 police officers who have either graduated with a major in English from the University of the People’s Police or are fluent in English have been chosen to implement this campaign.  They have been on duty on local tourism streets including Hoang Sa, Truong Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap and Bach Dang streets.
