Free examinations and medicines given to locals
On Tuesday, the Party organisation of Da Nang’s government agencies and the group Medical Aid for Vietnam jointly provided free medical examinations and medicines for local residents from Ngu Hanh Son District’s Hoa Quy Ward at the Hoa Quy Medical Station.
The event was part of a 4-day voluntary programme which is taking place until 24 October in the city’s Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son districts, and in Quang Nam Province’s Dien Ban District.
Under the programme, a total of 2,400 local residents will be given free general examinations and medicines, another 800 will receive free eye check-ups and glasses, and 300 others will be provided with free dental examinations and extractions.
In addition, the costs of surgery for cataract operations for the elderly, and heart operations for poor children under 16, will be funded by Medical Aid for Vietnam.
