After over one month of work, the refurbishment of the Go Do-Nghi An Cemetery in Cam Le District’s Nghi An Village has now been completed.  The restoration work cost more than 100 million VND which was donated by villagers and local businesspeople.

The cemetery was first opened in 1920.  The remains of French and Spanish soldiers who had died in attacks on Da Nang between 1858 and 1860 were moved into the cemetery in 1926 from the site of the then being constructed Da Nang Airport.

The Board of Family Names in Nghi An Village, in conjunction with the Cam Le district authorities and the city’s relevant agencies, implemented the restoration of the cemetery for local residents to worship and commemorate their ancestors and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives during wars.
