Police seize 5 illegally imported supercars
On Thursday afternoon, police officers from the Economic Crime Investigation Division (PC46) of the Da Nang Department of Police seized 5 supercars which are suspected of having been imported illegally. They are 3 Lexus LX570 models, one Lexus GX460F and one Lexus RX350, and their combined value totals dozens of billion VND.
The luxury cars arrived at the city’s Tien Sa Port in 2013 and their receiver was the Ho Chi Minh City-based Phuong Nam Company. However, the company refused to accept the consignment because they said it should have been delivered to a Malaysian port instead of Da Nang. After a period of investigation, the local police confirmed that the cars were correctly unloaded at Tien Sa Port in accordance with their relevant papers.

Previously, PC46 sold 7 illegally imported supercars in July 2014 and raised around 10 billion VND for the State budget.
Those supercars had diplomatic or foreign registration plates which had expired. Some of their owners had not provided the regulation papers, and some of the vehicles had been registered with fake registration plates, making it difficult for the local police force to identify their owners.
