Around 4,000 disabled find stable jobs
Over recent years, Da Nang has helped to build and repair houses for around 300 poor families with disabled members. The focus has been on donating a means of livelihood for the disabled people and helping them to access bank loans to develop their businesses and raise their incomes. Thanks to this, about 4,000 local people with disabilities now have stable jobs, accounting for over 36% of the total number of disabled people in the city.
Over the past 3 years, nearly 12,000 local children aged under 6 have been given access to free screening programmes for the early detection of disabilities. Around 200 of them had early medical intervention.
In 2016, Da Nang will help to repair the downgraded houses of between 80 and 100 local families with disabled members. Importance will be attached to ensuring that 100% of local children with birth defects will be provided with specialised medical examinations, and that between 50 and 100 disabled children can access either inclusive or special education.
