Doctors from Da Nang's Hoan My Hospital have successfully performed an operation to remove a 42mm x 69mm cardiac tumour from 90-year-old Bui Thi Xuan.
The old woman had been admitted to the hospital with breathing difficulties, chest pains and difficulty moving. She was diagnosed with severe heart problems.

With the help of a CT scan, the doctors detected a mucinous tumour in the patient’s right atrium which was compressing the tricuspid valve. This resulted in blood stasis in the venous system, leading to edema and potentially heart failure.
After the operation, the patient gradually recovered her health and she was discharged from hospital yesterday.
