Local police to patrol by bicycle
On Tuesday morning, some representatives from the Da Nang branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) presented 100 specialised bikes to the Da Nang Police Department. The bikes, worth over 280 million VND in total, will go to local police officers to help them increase their patrols in the city in order to ensure local security.
Each light bike is equipped with a water bottle, a small police briefcase fixed on the frame and other items. By using the bicycles, local police can find it easier to patrol in small and narrow alleys across the city. This will help to improve the efficiency of their patrols and promote the image of friendly police force to local residents and visitors.
The donated bikes are amongst over 2,200 specialised ones, totalling over 6 billion VND, which are being given to police officers in 19 provinces and cities nationwide.
