Since its launch over 8 months ago, a writing and photo contest about Da Nang has drawn a great deal of attention from local people.  The contest’s organising board received many impressive written entries which show the special love for Da Nang - a beautiful seaside city. 

Ms Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu from the Da Nang Preventive Medicine Centre is a typical entrant.  She says that she considers the city her home despite not being born here.  She instantly fell in love with the city the first time she visited because of the friendliness and hospitality of the local people.  She adds that now, whenever she is asked where she is from, she cannot hide her pride as she says that she comes from Da Nang.

Another contestant is Ms Tran Thi Tung from the local Department of Social Insurance who decided to work in Da Nang after graduating.  She says that she loves Da Nang because of its amazing landscapes with beautiful mountains, the river and beaches.  In addition, local residents are very friendly and so helpful.

Ms Le Thi Thu Thanh from Quang Tri Province shows her love for the city’s beautiful beaches with their soft white sand and clear blue water.  She remarks that she is very impressed by the joint efforts of the local residents and the city authorities in protecting the sea environment.
