10 million VND bonus for My An Ward's police officers
On Monday, leaders of the Ngu Hanh Son District authorities in Da Nang presented 10 million VND from the district’s budget to be given as bonuses to police officers in the district’s My An Ward. The officers had successfully arrested a group of criminals who had stolen property from an American visitor.
The offenders were 17-year-old Tran Huu Trung, and Nguyen Tri Tam and Dang Ngoc Hien both 18. They are all from Quang Nam Province and are temporarily residing at 62 Phan Tu in My An Ward. The property they stole was valued at around 25 million VND in total.

At around 2.00am on 13 January, Tam and Hien broke through a back door into the rented house of 62-year-old Richard Murphy at 62 An Thuong 5. They entered and searched his bedroom, then took away a number of valuable items including jewellery worth 150 USD, a 10 million VND laptop, a 100 USD bluetooth speaker, 250 USD in cash, a wristwatch, and a leather wallet.
According to the offenders’ confessions, they had previously carried out 3 other thefts in Ngu Hanh Son District.
