German couple show special love for Da Nang
In July 2015, the Furama Resort Danang started its ‘Go Green @ Fabulous Furama’ project which encourages guests to plant a tree at the resort. The trees are viewed as meaningful gifts for the resort, and the guests can see how high their trees have grown if they return to the resort in the future. To date, dozens of trees have been planted.
The project’s first tree was planted by a German couple, Volker and Susanne Behle, who have visited Da Nang 25 times over the past 15 years.

Arriving in Viet Nam for the first time in 2001, on that trip they visited Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue. When they finally visited Da Nang for the first time, they were deeply impressed by the city’s beautiful landscapes, its friendly and kind-hearted residents, and the special local cultural attractions which were all very different from their imagination. They remarked that, unlike the hustle and bustle in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang was an amazing and peaceful destination for both domestic and foreign visitors.

Every year, the German couple arrive in Da Nang either in April or May or in December in order to experience both the blazing sun of the summer season and the chilly breezes of the winter season. They enjoy the great sunrise and sunset moments, and walking along the Bach Dang riverside promenade. They also like chatting with their Vietnamese friends whilst sipping Vietnamese coffee. They affirm that Da Nang will continue to be a regular vacation destination for them in the years ahead.
