Repaired fishing boat relaunched
After undergoing 20 days of repair at Da Nang’s Bao Duy Oil Spill Response and Marine Service Joint Stock Company, fishing boat QNg 98459, rammed by a foreign ship on 1 January, was relaunched on Monday. The boat is owned by Mr Huynh Thach from Quang Ngai Province’s Duc Pho District and the total repair bill was over 500 million VND.
At present, the boat’s crew members are busy making preparations for their next offshore fishing trip to the Tonkin Gulf which will start on 28 January.

On 1 January, the fishing boat with 10 crew members on board, was rammed twice whilst it was en route from Da Nang to Quang Tri Province’s Con Co Island. The incident, which happened some 70 nautical miles (130 km) off the island, knocked seven of the fishermen overboard. The boat was then towed to Man Quang Bay in Da Nang on 2 January by fishing boats operating nearby.
