On Sunday, in response to Da Nang’s ‘Clean Son Tra’ programme, around 250 local environmental volunteers were actively involved in cleaning up some of the tourist areas on the Son Tra peninsula.

The programme was jointly organised by the Management Board of the Son Tra peninsula and the city’s Green Viet Biodiversity Conservation Centre.  The purpose was to raise the awareness of local people and tourists about protecting the environment of Son Tra and the local forest and sea ecosystems.

The volunteers collected rubbish and tidied rockfalls alongside a total of 20km of roads from Ho Xanh to Linh Ung Pagoda towards the Bai Bac area, and from Yet Kieu to the Ban Co (Chess Board) Peak towards the Intercontinental Sun Peninsula Resort.
