900 million VND to help disadvantaged children
Following recent approval from the Da Nang authorities, a programme to help local disadvantaged children will be implemented in the city during this year by the Fund for Sponsoring Children.
Funded by the Assemblies of God/World Relief (AOGWR) from Australia, the 900 million VND programme will be deployed in certain districts of the city.
The focus will be on enhancing the skills of those who are involved in the project. In addition, the project aims to improve access to clean water for poor children and their families, and enhance the quality of healthcare services. Attention will also be paid to promoting the implementation of the city’s eliminating hunger and reducing poverty programmes, as well as to educating teenagers in difficult circumstances.
Funding will be provided for surgery on children with eye defects or congenital heart diseases, providing free medical examinations for children, and implementing the child malnutrition control programme in the city. Greater efforts will be made to donate wheelchairs and other equipment for the functional rehabilitation of disabled people.
