On Tuesday, the Da Nang Party Committee Deputy Secretary, Mr Vo Cong Tri, and the municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Dang Viet Dung, made inspection visits to check repairs to deteriorated houses, and the building of a new one, for social policy families in Lien Chieu District.

The beneficiaries are Mr Pham Viet Muoi, a toxic chemical-affected former revolutionary soldier, Mrs Truong Thi Man who has rendered service to the nation, Mr Le Van A, a war invalid, and Mrs Le Thi Y, the daughter of a martyr.

Mr Muoi had been given 60 million VND to build his new house.  Meanwhile, the others received 20 million VND each to repair their deteriorated homes.

During the inspection visit, Deputy Secretary Tri and Vice Chairman Dung realised that the families given 20 million VND were still in difficult circumstances.  Therefore, the city leaders decided to give an additional 10 million VND from the city’s budget to each of these 3 families.

Deputy Secretary Tri shared his joy with the beneficiaries as they are now to own stronger and more spacious houses.  He praised the great efforts of the Lien Chieu District authorities for their active support and initiative in giving more financial assistance to local social policy families for repairing or replacing their houses, and ensuring the high quality of the work and the on-schedule progress.

So far this year, 59 of 102 such families in the district have had their houses repaired or replaced.   The repairs of deteriorated houses and building of new ones for the remaining 43 social policy beneficiaries are underway, and the construction work is expected to be completed before 27 July.
