Numerous meaningful activities during Month of Workers
As part of activities to mark the 130th anniversary of International Labour Day (1 May), this year’s Month of Workers will be held in Da Nang from 21 April to late May.
This year’s event will take ‘Trade unions join efforts with the city authorities to ensure the sustainable development of businesses, provide jobs for workers, and improve the living conditions of labourers’ as its theme.
The event aims to encourage employers to commit themselves to ensuring benefits for their employees, and enhancing the quality of their spiritual and material lives.
A wide range of activities will be held during the month. These will include a launch ceremony for the Month of Workers 2016, the 7th sports festival for workers, and a ceremony to celebrate the 130th anniversary of International Labour Day. In addition, there will be a talk entitled ‘Opportunities and Challenges for Trade Unions after Viet Nam’s Entry into the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)’, a festive day for workers at the local industrial parks and export processing zone, and a programme giving gifts to poor workers.
