The organisation’s representatives from the US, UK, China, Denmark, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Vietnam shared experience in helping young people find jobs as well as measures to boost ties among policymakers, private sector and youngsters.
Erwin Nacuray, Deputy Country Director of the Save the Children in Vietnam, said the initiative aims to equip poor young people with necessary skills, relations and opportunities to find jobs or start their own businesses, thereby improving their income.
In Vietnam, the project brought support to over 2,000 young individuals in Da Nang and Can Tho in 2014-2015, over 70 percent of them landed jobs or had their own businesses.
Nearly 50,000 in Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam have benefited from the programme.
