Food Safety Action Month continues until 15 May
The Da Nang Action Month for Food Safety 2016 is taking place in the city between 15 April and 15 May.
The programme aims to detect any illegal use of prohibited substances in livestock farming activities, and to reduce drug residue in fruits, vegetables, meat, and seafood. In addition, it aims to raise awareness amongst local food businesses and establishments of the need to provide safe food and vegetables for customers in order to win their trust and prevent food poisoning.
During the month, the focus is on increasing checks and tightening the monitoring of food trading and processing establishments, food service providers, food importing companies, and slaughterhouses across the city.
In particular, inspection teams are inspecting 200 out of 1,177 food traders and service providers, 8 slaughterhouses, 12 breeding establishments, 10 vegetable growing areas, 5 plant protection drugs-selling establishments, and 30 agriculture-forestry-fisheries processing businesses.
After the month ends, the teams will continue to carry out inspections at the remaining food companies and establishments across the city.
